The name “Allo” is a merge of Alvarinho and Loureiro’s initials, two noble grape varieties of the Minho Region in northern Portugal. Loureiro, representing the majority (70%) of the blend, provides floral notes. Alvarinho, on the other hand, is responsible for the wine’s structure. By combining the delicate nature of Loureiro with the confidence of Alvarinho, “Allo” is a wine that embodies both the fun and serious sides of our Minho’s territory.

Soalheiro Alvarinho has the nickname ‘Clássico’, as it was the first wine ever to be made by the family, back in 1982. It was in 1989 that the most famous white wine of our winery was born. For more than 30 years, Sauvignon Sanct Valentin has benefited from single and selected plots located on the slopes at the foot of the Mendola, to generate a wine of the highest profile. Pinot blanc is the most widely planted white grape variety at St. Michael-Eppan. Cool night-time winds descending from the Mendel Massif and the limestone gravel soils provide the grape with the optimal conditions for developing into a nicely balanced, fresh white wine.
Stonehaven Winery and vineyards are embedded in the heart of the Limestone Coast. The region produces a wide range of premium fruit from rich soils, which benefits from readily abundant water and cool evening temperatures even when daytime temperatures soar. Stonehaven Wines use these to make complex, balanced wines that retain the flavours and characters.
Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay provide the bulk of the region’s harvest, with plantings of Merlot, Pinot Gris and Riesling also gaining in popularity and quality.
