This Burgundy white wine is a balanced blend of grapes coming from the Côte de Beaune for the structure and from the Mâcon region for their freshness and minerality. The result of the talent of the Cellar Master who has selected Chardonnay grapes harvested at perfect maturity and has aged the wine in 20% new barrels.

The Patriarche Pinot Noir comes from a balanced blend of Côte de Beaune giving finesse to the wine, Hautes Côtes de Beaune giving fruitiness and Côte Chalonnaise (Mercurey) giving elegance and suppleness. The Pinot Noir loves well-drained marl and limestone soils on which, depending on the proportion of limestone and the situation of the plot, it will produce a light, elegant red or a powerful, vigorous wine.

It is the most important vineyard of the Côte de Nuits extending on the communes of Gevrey Chambertin and Brochon.
The communal appellation vines lie on brown calcic or limey soils. They also reap the benefit of marls covered with screes and red silt washed down from the plateau. These stony mixtures confer elegance and delicacy on the wine while the clayey marls, which contain rich deposits of fossil shell-fish, add body and firmness. The grapes selected for this Cuvée come from very well located parcels on the slope and are bought from wine growers with whom we have maintained a lasting relationship.

In the middle of the renowned Côtes de Nuits, called “Champs Elysées” of Burgundy, the Nuits-Saint-Georges vineyards lie on brown limestone soils with varying amounts of clay derived from Jurassic subsoils. This is the paradise for Pinot Noir. Nuits Saint Georges wines are sustained in color and exhibit rich and powerful aromas. The grapes selected for this Cuvée come from the medium of the slope and are bought from wine growers with whom we maintain a long date partnership.
