Petit Figeac Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé AOC (Château Figeac Saint-Émilion GCC 2nd wine)

2021

Petit Figeac Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé AOC (Château Figeac Saint-Émilion GCC 2nd wine)

Château Figeac is one of the leading St. Emilion estates and its wine, with its high Cabernet content, has often been described as the most Médoc-like in Saint-Émilion. It is located in the north-west of the appellation with its vineyards adjoining those of Cheval Blanc. Its 40 hectares of vineyards (unusually for the right bank there is only 30% Merlot in the vineyard with 35% Cabernet Franc and – rare on the right bank – 35% Cabernet Sauvignon) lie on a deep, Médoc-like gravel topsoil (‘Graves’) over a flinty, iron-rich subsoil.
Since 2010 Figeac has been managed by Comte Eric d’Aramon and his wife Laure and there has been some serious improvements here recently under winemaker Frédéric Faye. Michel Rolland has been brought in to consult – but not to change the unique Figeac style. As a consequence, the wines produced now seem a little riper and more polished than before but are still fine, pure and classic.

Produced to the same high standards as the Grand Vin, Petit-Figeac is Château Figeac’s second wine. Under the leadership of Thierry Manoncourt, Château Figeac has been producing a Second Wine since 1945. Since the 2012 vintage, it has taken the name of a historic plot of land, “Petit-Figeac” located in the heart of the estate.

2021 is the first vintage vinified in the estate’s new cellar.

Pichon Comtesse Réserve Pauillac AOC (by Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande GCC)

Second Grand Cru Classé from Pauillac, the magnificent Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande shines on the left bank of Bordeaux. In 2007, Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande began a new chapter in its history by joining the Rouzaud family, owners of the prestigious Louis Roederer Champagne House.

A reference among the wines of Pauillac, Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande oversees a vineyard of 114 hectares, of which 92 hectares are in production. The soils, composed of gravelly ridges on sandy-clay subsoils, benefit the vines, which are on average 28 years old. In the process of converting to organic farming, the vineyard is certified organic and 65% biodynamic.

Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia Bolgheri DOC

2020

Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia Bolgheri DOC

Tenuta San Guido is the result of a very long tradition and of an ethical message handed down from generation to generation. Over the years, the dedication and commitment to the company’s activities have led to many successes: Sassicaia, in the wine sector, the Razza Dormello Olgiata, in the breeding of thoroughbred horses and the Rifugio Faunistico Padule di Bolgheri, for the protection of nature and wildlife.

Originally reserved for family and friends until 1967, Sassicaia was released on the market for the first time in 1971 with the 1968 vintage. To this day, the winemaking team remains committed to preserving the stylistic imprint that inspired the creation of this wine.

“We believe that Sassicaia is one of the greatest wine creations of the century. It also happens to be simply wonderful to drink. May it thrive through the new millennium.” – Serena Sutcliffe MW & David Peppercorn MW

Tertio de Montrose Saint-Estèphe AOC (Château Montrose GCC 3rd wine)

The history of Montrose, written in two centuries by three families of owners, is depositary of their spirit, marked by their quest of excellence and legendary vintages.
