This exceptional Bordeaux wine is from carefully selected plots on the continuation of Saint-Émilion’s celebrated limestone ridge, the perfect terroir to grow a beautiful 100% Merlot.
The Petit Picoron Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux 2018 is a bold, high-alcohol expression from a sweltering and concentrated vintage. Like the 2015, it is a 100% Merlot sourced from the limestone ridge shared with neighboring Saint-Émilion. The 2018 Petit Picoron retains the estate’s low-intervention style, focusing on the purity of the fruit with minimal oak influence.

TECHNICAL DATA

APPEARANCE
Bright ruby in the glass.

NOSE
Good development on the nose, where dark fruits leaves space to spices and some light toasted notes.

PALATE
Dry, vibrant palate with intense notes of ripe plum, vanilla, and savory earth.

AGEING
Unlike the flagship label which undergoes extensive barrel aging, the Petit Picoron is aged with only a “hint” of French oak.

PAIRING
Its racy tannins and bold dark fruit make it a flexible “Right Bank” red for both refined and rustic meals. Think of a grilled rib eye or a classic Côte de Boeuf.
