The Reserve collection of wines are named in honour of Schild Family members who have given their foresight and passion to the Schild Estate journey.
The Liebich Vineyard sits high on the hills behind the township of Rowland Flat. The vines grown adjacent to the original Schild homestead that was purchased and settled by Ben and Alma Schild in 1952 on what was historically known as ‘Narrow Road’.
Seigneurs D’Aiguilhe (or “The Lord of Aiguilhe”) is the second wine of Château d’Aiguilhe, owned by Count Von Neipperg since 1998. The Château is one of the finest and most beautiful vineyards in the Castillon-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, on the high hillsides of the right bank of the Dordogne.
Combining power and freshness, the wines of Château d’Aiguilhe succeed in expressing the terroir’s strong personality, and show very well after 5 years in bottle.

The name “Allo” is a merge of Alvarinho and Loureiro’s initials, two noble grape varieties of the Minho Region in northern Portugal. Loureiro, representing the majority (70%) of the blend, provides floral notes. Alvarinho, on the other hand, is responsible for the wine’s structure. By combining the delicate nature of Loureiro with the confidence of Alvarinho, “Allo” is a wine that embodies both the fun and serious sides of our Minho’s territory.

Soalheiro Alvarinho has the nickname ‘Clássico’, as it was the first wine ever to be made by the family, back in 1982. Soalheiro Mineral Rosé comes from the desire to craft a rosé in the light, dry style of southern France. The wine owes its persistence to Pinot Noir and its elegance to Alvarinho. It boasts minerality and a moderate alcohol content, without the intense sweetness often associated with rosés. It is the perfect companion for any occasion- by itself, at the bar, before and after a meal, or paired with the main course.

Oppaco is the first-ever red wine made by Soalheiro, marking a new chapter in history. The goal was to take an innovative approach to the region’s red wines. It started in 2013 as a blend of two regional grape varieties, red Vinhão (known as Sousão in Douro Region) and white Alvarinho. Today it includes Pinot Noir, as well, to achieve the perfect flavour balance. This combination allows the elegance of Alvarinho and the light, fruit-forward profile of Pinot Noir to tone down the rusticity of Vinhão, producing a delicate and elegant wine with an outstanding balance between tannins, alcohol, and acidity. It is named Oppaco, meaning ‘opaque’, to mark Soalheiro’s venture into the world of red wine.

Soalheiro Sauvignon Blanc & Alvarinho is a result of the dedication to the region’s enormous potential. This resulted in a Sauvignon Blanc unique to the region, different from its expressions in France and New Zealand. Pinot blanc is the most widely planted white grape variety at St. Michael-Eppan. Cool night-time winds descending from the Mendel Massif and the limestone gravel soils provide the grape with the optimal conditions for developing into a nicely balanced, fresh white wine.
Brioso is Susana Balbo’s signature Bordeaux blend consisting of 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Malbec, 22% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, all blended then aged for 15 months in new French oak barrels. The grapes come from Finca Dominio, located almost 1000 meters above sea level in the prime area of Agrelo (in Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza).
Susana Balbo is regarded as Argentina’s finest female winemaker, and this Brioso is a great wine which showcase her talents. It’s consistently good quality year on year with recent vintages aiming to be more European in style, less fruit driven and more traditional Bordeaux.
In Susana’s own words: “Brioso means “the spirit of passion for challenges”, and expresses my unique passion to create this wine”.
