Domaine Steinmaier Givry 1er Cru Blanc

The Cave of Vignerons de Buxy offers a selection of wines produced in limited quantities. Selected by the best winemaker these wines, produced and matured individually, come from the vineyards, estates and châteaux of the property, like Domaine Steinmaier in Givry.

The Givry Blancs come from the Chardonnay grape variety. Its grapes come from clay-limestone soils. The basements are clearly calcareous. Ideally exposed to the South and South-East, our vineyard is located in an intermediate zone, with a significant drop. The ground is quite rocky. The average age of the vines is 30 years old.

Description

APPEARANCE
Slightly golden dress.

NOSE
The nose is fine, marked by its soil and it presents shades of linden, lily and dried stone fruits.

PALATE
Nice balance on notes of fresh fruits which evolve on spicy aromas with age.
The wine has a good length, and a lot of elegance.

AGEING
Ageing takes place in stainless steel tanks.

PAIRING
It goes very well with all fine fish in white butter sauce, white meats (like chicken with cream or filet mignon) and goat cheeses. Dishes such as couscous, tajines, sweet and sour prawns will allow it to highlight its roundness and liveliness.
