Château La Tour Carnet Haut-Médoc Grand Cru Classé AOC – Special Edition (100% Cabernet Franc)

The history of La Tour Carnet merges with the history of France. Bearing the name of the squire who infallibly helped his Lord to resist French royalty at the end of the Hundred Years War, Château La Tour Carnet played a major role in the revolution of the Médoc vineyards and the quality of its wine, rewarded by the entry in the classification of Grands Crus Classés of 1855. The diversity of its terroir and the constant search for perfection make this Haut-Médoc an exceptional wine.

Since purchasing the estate in 2000, Bernard Magrez has returned the estate’s Château, cellars and 311 hectares to their glory days, marrying cutting-edge technology with traditional savoir-faire.

This Special Edition of Château La Tour Carnet – also called “La Pièce des Ormeaux” and labelled as Cuvée Cabernet Franc – is an ultra-rare micro-cuvée from the historic Château La Tour Carnet in Bordeaux.

The grapes come from an old single plot on a rare clay-limestone mound, a single parcel called La Pièce des Ormeaux of 1.14 hectares planted in 1963, farmed and vinified entirely on its own. The label states the exact number of vines behind the bottle: 9,519.

This specific terrain helps Cabernet Franc develop fine aromatics. The appellation blend never allows you to taste Cabernet Franc on its own — this bottling does.
