The catchy and interesting label of this Appassimento depicts Ulysses’ 10-year journey home from Troye to Ithaca. Every facet of his journey captivates the sense of discovery, self-discovery, and world discovery Ulysses experiences in those enchanted 10 years.
The wine is still dry, but juicy and easy drinking, with a Cherry Pie character, and made with the “appassimento” method, where grapes are dried for 60 days and aged in new oak for 4 month after the pressing.

Si.Mento Rosso is a soft, elegant, easy-drinking wine, intended for the general public, but above all for young people.
The name Si.Mento is the last part of the word ‘appassi-mento ‘, but at the same time it means ‘si, mento ‘ in Italian; ‘yes, I’m lying ‘. It’s meant as an unloving salute from the orthodox producer in Valpolicella to the southern Italian versions, which are often made with must concentrate instead of dried grapes.
“We want to offer a new interpretation of Valpolicella, a denomination that gives wines of great structure, but which can also give quality wines that are easy to drink, in every occasion and place.” Daniele Accordini , CEO and winemaker of Cantina Valpolicella Negrar .

The brand Le Preare was created by Cantina Valpolicella Negrar to pay tribute to a history, where previous generations very often paid a very high price, allowing todays generation of vine growers to benefit from the hard work of their forefathers.
Located in the heart of the Valpolicella Classico, this area was also known for its prestigious stones, such as the red marble of Verona. It was widely used by the Venetians when building their villas. However, the use of other local stones, less prestigious then marble, was wide spread. The antique mines where the stone was taken, were called “preare” in local dialect. The local stones were used to separate the vineyards and also to build the terraces, allowing the vines to grow also on steep slopes.
This Amarone truly expresses the company philosophy, shown through the wine’s balance between elegance and structure. Made from grapes grown in the Valpolicella Classica zone, which undergo “appassimento” (gentle drying) before ageing in large oak barrels for a minimum of 24 months and further maturation of 6-8 months in bottle.
