APPEARANCE
Ruby red, turning to garnet color.
NOSE
It features classic Left Bank characters of blackcurrant (cassis), cedarwood, gravelly earth, and subtle spices.
PALATE
Medium-to-full-bodied with firm, grippy tannins and balanced acidity. Because 2011 was a cooler, more challenging vintage across Bordeaux, the wine leans classic and savory rather than overly plush.
AGEING
18-24 months in French oak.
PAIRING
Best served with roast lamb with rosemary, duck breast, mushroom risotto and hard, aged cheeses like Comté, Gruyère, or sharp Cheddar.
