In Spessa, located in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, grandfather ‘Min’ – and then father Livio – in the ‘60s began the history of what is today Tunella, owned by Massimo and Marco Zorzettig. The two, together with their mother Gabriella, are now the proud custodian of their family’s tradition, with over 50 years of history. Tunella is the prime example of a reality in which the meaning of the present blends with the memory of the past, together with a strong drive to experiment while almost religiously respecting the best traditions of the Colli Orientali del Friuli: a future built on the present, day by day.

Tunella “Valmasìa” Malvasia Friuli Colli Orientali DOC is a fragrant, distinctive, and beautifully textured Italian white wine crafted from 100% Malvasia Istriana, a premium indigenous grape variation rooted heavily in Mediterranean tradition. This expression is celebrated for its precise balance between floral aromatics and oceanic minerality.

APPEARANCE
Brilliant straw yellow with sparkling green highlights.

NOSE
Fresh and fragrant nose aromas of penny royal and hawthorn, with fruity hints of lime and pink grapefruit, with a slight but intense, mineral sea taste.

PALATE
The palate fills the mouth with a silky sensation, echoing fresh herbs and a light spicy hint, with a refreshing and elegant bouquet refined by savoury mineral appeal.

AGEING
The maturation developes with a lengthy series of bâtonnage carried out at intervals to produce a well-rounded and full-bodied wine, with a delicate bouquet.

PAIRING
An excellent pairing for pasta and sardines, tagliolini with lobster or seafood, ravioli with turbot. It’s also worth trying with main courses of seabream or seabass with herbs.
