Auguste Pirou Floral Côtes du Jura Chardonnay AOC

The name Pirou seems to have a dual origin and a double meaning: both a nickname for a child in a local dialect and derived from the word pirol, itself from the Latin petrus (stone), and thus seems to reflect the rocky soils, which are abundant in the vineyard.

The Pirou family emblem is the sun, which radiates and warms hearts. In a northern vineyard like the Jura, with its harsh and sometimes long winters, it’s a nod to the importance of the sun in ensuring the perfect ripeness of the different grape varieties: Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau in particular.

Small in size but vast in its exceptional diversity, the Jura vineyard stretches for 80 kilometers between Burgundy and Switzerland, along France’s eastern border.

True to its “Floral” designation, this 100% Chardonnay is a light, fresh, and mineral-driven French white wine, celebrated for its aromatic profile and crisp, vibrant palate.
