HUANG DING 5 Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot 18M by Bernard Magrez

Bernard Magrez brings decades of experience from the world’s greatest wine regions to China, combining French winemaking savoir-faire with the distinctive terroirs and landscapes of Chinese vineyards. Produced with the Legacy Peak estate in Ningxia, at the foot of the Helan Mountains, these wines are shaped by respect for terroir, precise vineyard management, rigorous grape selection and attention to every detail. Their ambition is to express both place and craftsmanship.

Huang Ding is the prestige range born from a three-year joint project between Bernard Magrez and Legacy Peak. The grapes are harvested by hand in early October, then macerated in vat at 20°C. Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel, before the wine is aged for 18 months in barrels. The winemaking style and barrel selection were defined together with Bernard Magrez’s technical team, who travelled to Ningxia several times during the project.

Huang Ding 5 reflects the method Bernard Magrez applies across his classified estates: hand harvesting, careful selection and patient barrel ageing, adapted to the sunlight and cool nights of Ningxia.
