Haras de Pirque Albaclara Sauvignon Blanc

Haras de Pirque estate was born with the quest to produce high quality organic wines and explore Chile’s vast winemaking potential while focusing on expressing the Maipo Valley’s extraordinary terroir. The name “Haras de Pirque” is a tribute to the country’s oldest thoroughbred farm, established in 1892. The thoroughbred racetrack still surrounds the estate’s vineyards and the state-of-the-art winery.

In the early 2000’s, Marchese Piero Antinori was captivated by the Haras de Pirque estate, which at that time was an impressive thoroughbred stud farm nestled in the Andes Mountain range. As the finest wines are crafted in terroirs with distinctive elements and natural beauty, likewise a good winemaker and his vineyard complement each other, ultimately expressing perfect harmony in each wine.

Albaclara Sauvignon Blanc vineyards are located in the Leyda Valley, specifically in the area of Las Brisas de Santo Domingo, where the growing season began with cool temperatures during the phases of budbreak and flowering which resulted in smaller than usual clusters. Inspiration for the wine’s name came from the splendid sunrises coming up over the vineyards. This unique terroir gives wines produced here distinctive saline and mineral notes.
