2021 Miles From Nowhere Rosé The Miles from Nowhere name comes from the journey Franklin Tate’s ancestors made over 100 years ago from Eastern Europe to Australia: upon their arrival, they felt they had travelled “miles from nowhere”. The philosophy of Miles from Nowhere is based on a passion for seeking out precious pockets of exceptional land and vineyards across the Margaret River region. For their rosé, Miles From Nowhere focus their sourcing from the southern, cooler parts of Margaret River that produce delicate, ethereal Shiraz. In 2021, they blended a batch of the rare Muscat a petit grains rouge to add to the complexity and uniqueness of our rose. In the end, this beloved rosé shows the fresh and subtly sweet flavours of a white, with the gentle spices and complexities from the red. For more info, visit Miles from Nowhere website. 2020 Reschke Vitulus Cabernet Sauvignon (1,500ml) The Reschke family first settled in the Limestone Coast district in 1906, establishing themselves as prime Hereford graziers. In 1989 Burke Reschke, fourth generation in the family decided to develop the farmland into vineyards, which in turn produced exceptional fruit, as well as a number of Australia’s icon wines. Reschke is committed to producing superior wines from meticulously managed vineyards in the heart of Coonawarra. Optimal vineyard soils comprised of thin layers of rich red loams over ancient limestone provide the bare requirement for growth without indulging the grapevine’s natural tendency for vigour. 2021 Schild Estate Alma Schild Barossa Chardonnay Schild Estate Wines are created with an authenticity and passion that comes from generations of a family who have made their home in the Southern Barossa. This wine is dedicated to “Alma Schild”, who raised a family of eight children in primitive conditions whilst supporting her husband Ben in establishing the Schild family vineyards and is a testament to her understanding, perseverance and sheer hard work. Sourced from the family’s finest parcel of Chardonnay off the Moorooroo Vineyard near Rowland Flat, the goal for our winemakers here has been to produce a wine which is varietally strong, retains its element of refreshingness, but possesses interest and complexity for the drinker. Varying degrees of oak barrel and stainless steel use, lees stirring and malolactic fermentation are all used in an effort to make a wine “with no arms and legs sticking out” and in which “Alma Schild” would be proud.
