In Spessa, located in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, grandfather ‘Min’ – and then father Livio – in the ‘60s began the history of what is today Tunella, owned by Massimo and Marco Zorzettig. The two, together with their mother Gabriella, are now the proud custodian of their family’s tradition, with over 50 years of history. Tunella is the prime example of a reality in which the meaning of the present blends with the memory of the past, together with a strong drive to experiment while almost religiously respecting the best traditions of the Colli Orientali del Friuli: a future built on the present, day by day.

Tunella Cabernet Franc Friuli Colli Orientali DOC is a generous, finely crafted Italian red wine made from 100% Cabernet Franc. This wine beautifully demonstrates the potential of this variety in northeast Italy by delivering classic herbaceous tension without sacrificing juicy fruit density.

APPEARANCE
Intense and vivid ruby red, developing into a garnet red with age.

NOSE
The highly intense and elegant impact releases fruity and grassy notes. The scent spectrum ranges from black berries, such as wild black cherry, blackberry, and blackcurrant, through to the herbaceous flavour so characteristic of the variety.

PALATE
The palate is ethereal, elegant with great character and broad and pleasant body with a long finish.

AGEING
After fermentation, the wine is poured under gravity into the underground cellar where it matures until the bottling.

PAIRING
The perfect accompaniment for red meats, game and well matured cheeses.
