A huge thanks to Grand Hyatt to have organized this WOW Festival, a unique occasion indeed to “travel the World of Wine through 10 countries and over 150 premium labels“.
We were very glad to have our stand this night to be able to highlight some of our best Italian reds.
From Piedmont, Viberti Giovanni expresses all its territoriality with a nice and well balanced Nebbiolo Langhe DOC 2013; it made many women happy thanks to its feminine La Gemella Barbera d’Alba DOC 2014 and satisfied the thirst of many men with the structure and complexity of its excellent Buon Padre Barolo DOCG 2013, one of the best wine in the room: not just because it’s our wine but also counting the times we had to pour it more the once to the same people!
From Tuscany, Rocca delle Macìe was a great success, but we didn’t have any doubt about that: rustic and bold Vernaiolo Chianti DOCG 2016 was well received, Riserva di Fizzano Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2013 was in good demand but it was Tenuta Sant’Alfonso Chianti Classico DOCG 2014 that took the stage, with its great acidity balanced by gentle tannin. One of our (and our guests) favorites.
And without travelling too far, Tenuta di Sesta were the perfect wines to match with many of the meat dishes available in the buffet. When people asked about the differences of the two wines, we presented them as “the small brother” Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2016 and “the big brother” Tenuta di Sesta Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2012. It goes without saying that, in the end, we looked all a big family around our stand.
