Domaine de Fiervaux Les Écobues Chenin Saumur Blanc

The Domaine de Fiervaux was born from a family farm established in Saumurois with 4ha of vines, and taken over in 1890 by Henri Maitreau. 40 years later, his son Jules succeeded him, constantly improving the vineyard. In 1960, Georges Cousin and his wife Juliette Maitreau, daughter of Jules, took over the reins and developed the estate, hence the origin of the name Cousin-Maitreau, developing the vineyard from 8 ha to 28 ha with the planting of several grape varieties in order to create a wide range.

Donjon de Lamarque Haut Médoc AOP (Château de Lamarque 2nd wine)

Château de Lamarque is located in Lamarque, in the Haut-Médoc region of Bordeaux. The vines in Lamarque have existed since the 15th century, but the wines were only produced for consumption for the inhabitants of the château.

Donjon de Lamarque is the Château’s Second Wine, made with the younger grapes of the property with a higher percentage of Merlot (up to 60%) and less Cabernet (40%). The Merlot could actually have been part of the Château de Lamarque blending but that would change the traditional Cabernet dominated blend of the first wine. The wine is aged in French oak barrels (all coming from the French region of Allier) for about 12 to 14 months before being bottled. The picking of the barrels is extremely meticulous, being guided by the idea of respecting the harmony between the oak tannins and the wine tannins. Every year the pairing is different. Traditionally 2 vintage-old barrels are used for Donjon de Lamarque.

El Jardín de La Emperatriz Crianza Rioja DOCa

Finca La Emperatriz is a winery with an extensive vineyard estate in Rioja Alta.
Viñedos Hermanos Hernáiz is the new project of brothers Eduardo and Víctor, who in 1996 acquired Bodega La Emperatriz, named as such because the first owner of these plots was Eugenia de Montijo, wife of Napoleon III and Empress of France. With this new emphasis and with new projects at hand, the winery changed its name but its high-end wines retain the Finca La Emperatriz signature, the name of the ‘viñedo singular’ they come from, which is given to small, old plots with limited but high quality production and which, in summary, must comply with a series of strict standards to prove their quality. The grapes used to make El Jardín de la Emperatriz Tinto come from plots where the soils are mostly composed of white boulders over a sandy-loam structure and where the vines have an average age of 25 years old.
Since January 2020, the range of Classic Blends and Single Plot wines have disappeared, giving way to four new labels: a high-end red and white called “Finca la Emperatriz Gran Vino”, a blend of traditional Rioja varieties from a “viñedo singular”, a pure expression of terroir, like the great chateaux of Bordeaux; and their respective younger brothers also from the same estate, called El Jardín de la Emperatriz.

El Miracle Nº01

Since 1885, the Vicente Gandía seal gives all its products common characteristics: high quality, reasonable prices, and stability between one harvest and another. Wines that transmit elegance, complexity, softness and balance.

Today, you can find Vicente Gandía in 90 countries on 5 continents, as the largest winery in the Valencian Community. In addition, in 2014 it won the award for the best Spanish winery in the prestigious international competition AWC Vienna. That same year, the World Association of Writers and Journalists of Wines and Spirits included it in their ranking of the top 50 wineries in the world. In 2018, the European Congress of Enogastronomic Brotherhoods (CEUCO) awarded the “Aurum Europa Excellente” Prize to Vicente Gandía as “Best European Winery”, reconfirmed also in 2022.

It’s a miracle that you’re here, that you’ve chosen this bottle, that you’re reading these words. We often dream so big that we forget about the wonderful things happening around us every day. A surprise trip, that song that took you back to your childhood, or the strange coincidence of finding love… in the end, miracles are just extraordinary events – and life is full of them. It all depends on you. You can keep waiting for that big event that might change your life, or you can toast the here and now, and make the miracle happen yourself.

Sometimes the extraordinary does happen – you just have to let it.

This wine is made exclusively from Tempranillo grapes, mostly grown on bush vines of over 30 years old. Although all the grapes come from Rioja Alta vineyards, they come from climate areas which are less extreme than the family’s best-known vineyard, “La Emperatriz”. Less Atlantic influence means that the wines do not require such a long ageing.
