The Abruzzo are rather unknown as a winegrowing region, except for the Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, which originates from it. The winery Colle Corviano in Loreto Aprutino belongs to the growing region Pescara, where Pinot Grigio is grown in selected vineyards located near the village of Loreto Aprutino in the Pinot Grigio IGP area, on stony, structured and drained limestone soil at 300 mt above the sea level, showing pleasant freshness with a well integrated acidity.

I Lauri Avalos Pecorino Colline Pescaresi IGP

The name “iLauri” stems from the ancient roots of our birth place, Loreto Aprutino, once covered in Laurus nobilis, or laurel trees.

The Spanish influence in Italy and European Baroque culture during the 16th century cannot be denied. The Abruzzo region, as most of Southern Italy had intense ties from a political, cultural, religious, economic and social point of view. The Avalos family moved to Italy and developed centers of cultural excellence that rivaled the Medici family.
Pecorino, a white grape once thought lost to the world is a must-try for those that believe Trebbiano is the only white wine in the Abruzzi. A sumptuous full-bodied white that flows with compelling flavors of white pulp, apricots and lychees.

I Lauri Equi Chardonnay Colline Pescaresi IGP

The name “iLauri” stems from the ancient roots of our birth place, Loreto Aprutino, once covered in Laurus nobilis, or laurel trees.

Chardonnay was introduced into the Abruzzi at the end of the nineteenth century and was immediately successful in terms of quality. Today, it is recognized as one of its most popular grape varieties.

Equi is a defense for freedom, a plea for justice and equality after several trademark disputes with industry giants over the name of this wine.

Poggio Dragone Trebbiano-Chardonnay Colline Pescaresi IGP

Ancient legends recount tales of nymphs, giants and winged serpents in the encompassing Apennine mountains. During the 5th century BC, the most feared mythical dragon devastated Ate and Tixa, in the southern part of Abruzzo. St. Leucio, famed slayer was summoned to kill the dragon. Today St. Leucio Cathedral stands on the monster’s den and contains the dragon’s 2 meter rib as proof of the diocesan’s bravery.

A blend of Trebbiano and Chardonnay grapes from the Abruzzo region, which are hand-harvested to create this fresh Italian white. Elegant and highly drinkable, this zesty wine is chock-full of refreshing citrus flavours. Best enjoyed on a sunny day on your favourite Terrazza.
