St. Michael-Eppan Sanct Valentin Pinot Noir Riserva Alto Adige DOC

Some 340 winemaking families joined forces in 1907 to create St. Michael-Eppan Winery, home to South Tyrol’s largest wine-growing municipality, Eppan.
Cellar Master Hans Terzer’s attaches the utmost importance to vinifying top wines that are clear, pure in tone and true to their varietal characteristics.

In the top wines Sanct Valentin, winemaker Hans Terzer expresses all his skill and experience. Using only the finest grapes from the territory of the Cantina St. Michael-Eppan, he composes elegant, layered and multidimensional wines, characterized by exquisite minerality, elegant aromas and excellent aging potential.

Pinot Noir has been cultivated in Alto Adige since 1850 and is also known locally as “Blauburgunder”. It is the most important red wine of the winery. It has always been a great challenge for every winemaker: it is demanding on the soil and the climate, but also in the workmanship in the cellar. For the Pinot Noir Sanct Valentin, part of this line since 1995, only the best vineyards and the oldest plants are used. Minimal yields and careful care guarantee an elegant and extremely sensual wine, which is characterized by structure, balance and fine tannins. It has an extraordinary aging potential.
