The Miles from Nowhere name comes from the journey Franklin Tate's ancestors made over 100 years ago from Eastern Europe to Australia: upon their arrival, they felt they had travelled "miles from nowhere".
The philosophy of Miles from Nowhere is based on a passion for seeking out precious pockets of exceptional land and vineyards across the Margaret River region.

Combining the gentle nature of the Merlot and the bold structure of the Cabernet, Miles From Nowhere Cabernet Merlot creates a well balanced and wild experience of pleasure, that’s hard not to enjoy.

“La Burgondie” was the historical region of France that gave rise to the term Burgundy. The legendary little knight character that appears on the bottles truly captures the essence of La Burgondie. Courageous, confident and loyal. A forward-thinking, like-minded group of individuals who are fiercely proud of their Burgundian roots, their beautiful region and their wines. The same wines, produced using environmentally friendly farming methods, which are evocative of the hard-working co-operative-winemaker families who give their all, and have done so for generations.

The Mâconnais hills form a set of inclines separated by parallel faults and facing north/north-east or south/south-west. Chardonnay wines for cellaring come from brown limestone or chalky soils and rendzine terrains. The siliceous, clay or sandy soils, often mixed with flat sandstone pebbles, favour the earlier drinking Chardonnay.
In this part of southern Burgundy, the vines form a part of a busy landscape of little hills and valleys that look as though they have been painted in water colours. This charming landscape was celebrated by the poet Lamartine, one of its native sons. The town of Mâcon maintains very close connections with this serene, cheerful, vineyard landscape and its traditions. White wines from Mâcon have been AOC accredited since 1937 and those grown in the arrondissement of Mâcon and its 11 adjacent communes are entitled to the appellation Mâcon-Villages.

Derthona represents the finest expression of the Timorasso grape in its place of origin. The name itself evokes a connection to the land: "Derthona" is the ancient Latin name for the city of Tortona, the urban center and heart of the four valleys that have always cultivated this rare and precious grape. Already cultivated in the Middle Ages, Timorasso is the oldest and rarest native white grape variety in Piedmont, as well as one of the few capable of producing great white wines that can be aged for a long time.

The Viberti Giovanni vineyards are located in the municipality of Monleale, a historic medieval stronghold and protagonist of the Timorasso Renaissance in the 1980s, thanks to the vision and determination of the young winemaker Walter Massa. The 9.5 hectares of vineyards extend across the upper part of the town, at 400 meters above sea level, along the road connecting Monleale to the municipality of Montemarzino. The east-southeast exposures ensure balanced ripening, while the light-colored, clayey soils with a good presence of limestone provide an ideal habitat for Timorasso.

Often referred to as the "White Barolo" due to its full body and significant aging potential, this wine is made from the native Timorasso, a delicate yet distinctive grape variety: while fresh in its youth, it is highly regarded for its ability to evolve, developing hydrocarbon or kerosene-like notes similar to aged Riesling.

Buglioni produces distinctive wines and, alongside the traditional Valpolicella styles, offers more unconventional and pure expressions that reveal the authentic character of the territory and its native varieties.

Il Bugiardo means “the liar”. This wine gained its name from a critic during a blind tasting. The critic was so impressed, that he thought the Buglionis were lying about what wine he was tasting. This wine is made from 100% estate fruit, which comes from Buglioni’s vineyards in Valpolicella Classico. The vineyards are located at an altitude of about 495ft and consist of dark, clayey soils with a high content of gravel.

Buglioni produces distinctive wines and, alongside the traditional Valpolicella styles, offers more unconventional and pure expressions that reveal the authentic character of the territory and its native varieties.

When Mariano Buglioni created this wine, he had the perfect name in mind. But he soon discovered that the perfect name was already taken, and he would have to settle for another name. Despite this setback, Mariano recognized that the wine was perfect in every other regard, so he chose the name (I’M) Perfetto, for a perfect wine with an imperfect name. This wine is made from 100% estate fruit, which comes from Buglioni’s vineyards in Valpolicella Classico. The vineyards are located at an altitude of about 495ft and consist of dark, clayey soils with a high content of gravel. Grapes are manually harvested, with a portion pressed immediately after harvest, while a small percentage is left in the drying room.

Domaine Dutron has been crafting wine in the picturesque town of Fuissé since 1835, where the family estate spans 16 hectares of Chardonnay vineyards. Pouilly-Fuissé ‘Les Vignes du Château’ is a blend of grapes from historic 13th-century plots. The vines, with an average age of 35 years, are planted on clay-limestone Jurassic soils, and bring richness to the wine.

TECHNICAL DATA
Alcohol 13%

APPEARANCE
Bright, pale gold.

NOSE
Very open on the nose and expresses notes of hawthorn, acacia blossom and citrus fruit, entwined with a light touch of spice.

PALATE
The attack is crisp, with good acidity, but it develops gradually to give the impression of fullness. It shows pronounced notes of candied citrus fruit and zesty mineral finish.

AGEING
Traditional vinification lasts 11-12 months and takes place in 30% oak barrels and 70% temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats. This subtle combination gives the wine great aromatic intensity.

PAIRING
It makes a perfect aperitif wine, but also pairs well with shellfish and fish, as well as white meats in a creamy sauce.

Passed down through generations, Maxime Dutron now oversees the vineyards, continuing the family’s legacy while embracing sustainable farming.

The vines used for Saint-Véran ‘A la Côte’ are among some of the highest-lying in the appellation. At their highest point of 500 metres, they benefit from rich clay-limestone soils and an ideal south-facing exposure, creating a naturally full-bodied, delicious-drinking wine.

APPEARANCE
Bright, pale gold.

NOSE
On the nose, it is very lightly spiced, with some candied fruit notes against a mineral backdrop.

PALATE
The attack is crisp but gives way to a very smooth mid-palate with hints of lemon and fresh hazelnuts. The finish is crisp and long.

AGEING
Although traditional vinification is usually carried out in vat, Denis & Maxime Dutron decided to use 30% oak barrels, to enhance the characteristics of the terroir creating a wine full of promise and complexity.

PAIRING
This Saint-Véran is perfect served with fish, seafood or even strong cheeses such as Beaufort, Comté or Bleu de Bresse.

Kalfu means "Blue" in Mapudungun, the language of the aboriginal Mapuche people of the region. It represents the color that provides a myriad of sensations: blue, like the Pacific Ocean's intense blue; and blue, like the free sky, acting as an accomplice of and witness to the mysterious origins of life.

Molu means West or “where the sun sets”. History tells us that the mapuche saw the stars in the sky over the Pacific Ocean and as the earth was rotating, they would hide in the sea and become starfish. At that time no one knew that the earth was round and turning; back then they believed the stars were falling into the deep darkness of the ocean.
