The Casas del Bosque Botanic Series Rosé Pinot Noir is a premium, estate-grown Chilean rosé crafted for an elegant, crisp, and bone-dry drinking experience. Sourced from the Las Dichas sector of the Casablanca Valley - one of the coldest winemaking zones in Chile - this wine benefits heavily from its proximity to the Pacific Ocean (just 18 kilometers away).

APPEARANCE
Pale, with an “onion cloth” hue and elegant pink reflections.

On the nose there are citrusy, tangerine and orange peel notes, which combine with more floral notes…rose and peach blossom and hints of strawberry and watermelon.

This Riesling expresses the nobility of the vineyards planted in this exceptional site of cold climate and marked maritime influence in the Casablanca Valley, unrepeatable conditions to achieve the elegance, aromatic intensity and refreshing acidity that define it. This wine is the result of an inexhaustible search for the perfect balance and sensory equilibrium.

PAIRING
Fatty meats like fish or beef, accompanied by naturally sweet vegetables such as red onion, red bell peppers, carrots, or squash.

Juan Cúneo Solari founded Casas del Bosque in 1993, at a time when the Chilean wine industry was pursuing quantity over quality. His commitment to quality is evident in the Gran Reserva Cabernet, a wine which is a great exponent of this characteristic variety of Chile that finds one of its most typical expressions in the Maipo Valley.

The origin of “La Trampa” dates back to the early 2000’s, when the dream of the “Great Chilean Cool - Climate Red” began to take shape through an innovative proposal of planting low-yielding Syrah on granitic soils at the top of the hills. Later, advances in topography and knowledge of the vineyards led the team to plant Malbec in the same soils and in another part of the hill facing east, where the best Pinot Noir were already cultivated.

Over the years, experience showed that complementing our Syrah with Malbec and, later, Pinot Noir would give rise to this great wine, achieving a deep finesse and elegance like no other blend from a cold climate.

In 1997, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A., and Eduardo Guilisasti Tagle, Chairman of Viña Concha y Toro S.A., sealed a partnership agreement with a view to create an exceptional Franco-Chilean wine called Almaviva. Produced under the joint technical supervision of both partners, the first vintage achieved immediate international success upon its launch in 1998.

The name Almaviva, though it has an Hispanic sonority, belongs to classical French literature: Count Almaviva is the hero of The Marriage of Figaro, the famous play by Beaumarchais (1732-1799), later turned into an opera by the genius of Mozart. The label, meanwhile, pays homage to Chile’s ancestral history, with three reproductions of a stylised design, which symbolises their vision of the earth and the cosmos. The label bears the name Almaviva in Beaumarchais’ own handwriting. Two great traditions thus join hands to offer the whole world a promise of pleasure and excellence.

Alcohol 15%

APPEARANCE
It captivates with its deep ruby brilliance.

NOSE
Fresh, elegant, complex nose. An alliance of ripe fruit and subtle floral aromas dominates initially, before leaving place to fine notes of violet, licorice, ink and graphite.

PALATE
The juicy attack of ripe fruit such as raspberry and blackcurrant is well- balanced by a delicate structure and a fine texture of smooth and polished tannins, well coated with savors of vanilla and cocoa. The mouth is harmoniously balanced by a great acidity.

AGEING
20 months in new French oak barrels.

PAIRING
The elegant and fresh 2021 requires rich, structured dishes as roasted lamb with rosemary and garlic or Beef Wellington.

Americans believe that the birds soaring in the sky have a sacred charm.
Founded in 1642, Mandan is the oldest wine estate in Chile and now listed by the government as one of the oldest historic buildings.
Mandan is the name originally meant for the first tribe of American Indians, migrated from Siberia to the Americas more than 20,000 years ago, where they formed a unique culture there.
Americans believe that the birds soaring in the sky have a sacred charm. In ancient sports or war, whoever wins will get a feather, which will be inserted into the hat as a prize and become a symbol of honor. The higher the number of feathers, the higher the bravery and the greater the prestige of war.
That's why the winery is marked by feathers, which, at the same time, represent the enthusiastic and sunny winemaking spirit of the winery and the endless exploration and passion for high-quality wine.

Kalfu means "Blue" in Mapudungun, the language of the aboriginal Mapuche people of the region. It represents the color that provides a myriad of sensations: blue, like the Pacific Ocean's intense blue; and blue, like the free sky, acting as an accomplice of and witness to the mysterious origins of life.

Molu means West or “where the sun sets”. History tells us that the mapuche saw the stars in the sky over the Pacific Ocean and as the earth was rotating, they would hide in the sea and become starfish. At that time no one knew that the earth was round and turning; back then they believed the stars were falling into the deep darkness of the ocean.
