The Spanish conquistador Francisco de Aguirre planted a vine in Chile in the 16th century. Further continuing the work of their ancestors, Ana Maria Etcheberri and Pedro Felix de Aguirre founded the Bodegas y Vinedos de Aguirre winery, which adheres to the winemaking traditions of the family.
The Pater Familiae line was created specifically for the anniversary of the death of the great winemaker Felix de Aguirre and represents the heart and soul of the family. This range of ultra premium wines gathers the best grapes from specially selected blocks owned by Cruz de Aguirre and also converges the fruit of the work of three generations of winemakers.
“FILIUS” represent the children, the descendants. This wine seeks to be a faithful representation of the experience of ancestors, passed down from generation to generation to create memorable wines. Pater Familiae Filius takes you back to tasting wine in its purest expression of legacy.

Intense and dark purplish red.
NOSE
The wine has a generous, intense aroma of blackberry, blackcurrant, plum, tobacco, vanilla, roses, leather and menthol.
PALATE
On the palate it is voluminous, with great structure and power, medium-high acidity, firm and silky tannins.
AGEING
18 months in a mix of French (70%) and American (30%) oak barrels.
PAIRING
The wine goes well with grilled red meat, game and matured cheeses.
