Château du Tertre is a property steeped in history. This property has existed since the 12th century and its vineyard of 52 hectares remains unchanged since 1855. Since the 19th century, their wines have become worldwide recognised thanks to the classification of 1855 which makes Château du Tertre a Grand Cru Classé de Margaux.

Unexpected grape varieties in this region flourish under the protective benevolence of a pine forest, a cool soil blend of gravel and sand, these imprints of time, are home to Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and a delicate touch of Gros Manseng. Tertre Blanc is an epicurean discovery for lovers of atypical white wines.

The Legend of La Fiole dates back to 1952 after a meeting between a winemaker from Châteauneuf du Pape and a renowned glass artist from the region. Together they imagined a bottle with curved shapes, reminiscent of the vines of old Grenache vines bent by the Mistral wind. Much more than a simple bottle, it became the ideal bottle for a great Châteauneuf du Pape wine.

With his pioneering spirit, Michel Chapoutier set off to discover the terroirs of the oldest continent, with an idea: growing Rhone grapes in Australia. This was the beginnings of a tremendous voyage of discovery, observation and eventually, affection for that land. On what he found to be very special terroir, he planted non-grafted vines from 19th century clonal selections, imported from Europe before phylloxera took its toll. The non-negligible advantage was that in Australia, the harvest coincides with the French spring: ideal timing.
