The Legend of La Fiole dates back to 1952 after a meeting between a winemaker from Châteauneuf du Pape and a renowned glass artist from the region. Together they imagined a bottle with curved shapes, reminiscent of the vines of old Grenache vines bent by the Mistral wind. Much more than a simple bottle, it became the ideal bottle for a great Châteauneuf du Pape wine.

Laurent Brotte has created a Fiole modelled on the original Fiole du Pape, a unique and rare item, partly hand-made and containing a fine reserve wine with good ageing potential. Each bottle has a unique handcrafted iridescent and textured glass label, made by a local Provençal master glassmaker. The Vintage Fiole is sealed with natural wax.

Producing Fiole Vintage is a complex process that requires expertise, passion and patience, with ageing and blending playing key roles in its creation. As the ageing process nears completion, the Brotte family and their oenologists determine the ideal blend proportions. This ancestral expertise brings out the best of each grape variety, creating a complex, well-balanced wine that reflects both its terroir and its vintage.

The terroirs are highly diverse, with Grenache primarily sourced from the north and central areas of the Vaucluse department, while Syrah comes from the northern part of the Gard department.

The soils and microclimates from which this wine originates vary significantly, with each plot planted with the grape variety best suited to its conditions. Grenache, which makes up about 60% of the blend, thrives on hillsides with good southeast exposure and is planted in sandy-clay, clay-limestone and silty clay soils often covered with pebbles or gravel, as well as deep red clay. Pebbly soils impart concentration, clay-limestone adds power and depth, while sandy soils bring finesse to the blend.

Syrah (around 30%) grows mainly on clay and sand at the foot of the slopes, contributing to a balance of freshness and finesse.

Fiole Réserve is classified as a Côtes du Rhône Villages, though its quality is on par with that of a Côtes du Rhône Villages with village name. However, since it is made from grapes sourced from several villages, such as Laudun, Valréas, Rochegude, Vinsobres, and Cairanne, it cannot be classified within this specific AOC segment.

Together they imagined a bottle with curved shapes, reminiscent of the vines of old Grenache vines bent by the Mistral wind. Much more than a simple bottle, it became the ideal bottle for a great Châteauneuf du Pape wine.

This wine comes from various soil types, with each plot planted to match the grape varieties best suited to those soils. Grenache, which makes up about 70% of the blend, thrives on sandy-clay soils on hillsides with good south-southeast exposure. This givesthe grapes a fleshier, more concentrated character and provides a well-structured base for blending. Syrah (30%) is primarily grown on slightly silty clay at the foot of the slopes, where the cooler, more humid microclimate producesfresh, fruity grapes.

Friends since school, Anthony Aubert & Jean-Charles Mathieu challenged themselves to create a range of wines in their image, by bringing a touch of originality and modernity to their cuvées. Created in 2018, they are part of an eco-conscious approach, more transparent and more sustainable. This commitment is evident from the vine to the bottle with organic cuvées or in conversion.

Carbon neutrality is the brand's primary commitment.
In 2022, 70% of all the cuvées will be certified by an environmental label.
Eco-responsible packaging comprehends recycled and lightweight glass bottles, sustainable caps, labels and boxes.
Sustainable viticulture makes possible to plant hundreds of trees each year works and to safeguard and protect the bees, its environment and the beekeeping heritage of Languedoc.

"Tired of our respective professional lives, we left everything to pursue a slightly crazy dream: to create wines like us, a little unconventional and offbeat" - Anthony Aubert & Jean-Charles Mathieu

Certified Organic Agriculture, Fugue is a vibrant, textured, and energetic wine. Syrah is blended with an unexpected grape variety, Nielluccio, for an original and sincere expression. Vinified with whole bunches and aged in concrete eggs, the wine unfolds a refined palate, free of artifice and rich in personality. An unvarnished approach, where the balance lies between tension and sincerity.

A light ruby color with velvety shades.
