Château Carbonnieux is a land of Graves, the largest wine estate in the Pessac-Léognan appellation in the Bordeaux region, marked by 7 centuries of history. We are a family, the Perrin family. For 4 generations, we've been passionately cultivating a taste for beauty. To taste the wines of Château Carbonnieux is to travel through its history.

The 2021 vintage will be remembered with pride by Carbonnieux's winegrowers, who had to outwit Mother Nature's nasty tricks. For this vintage, a new packaging for Carbonnieux red, based on the new identity unveiled in 2022, using the same graphics as the white label.

On a vineyard created in the middle of the 19th century by the Count of Kermartin, Léon Nony founded Château Treytins in the 1950s. After his death in 1959, his son Michel and then his grandson Jean-Marc continued his work by developing his vineyards. During the 1990s, the cellars were enlarged and completely renovated to take into account new techniques and the latest knowledge in winemaking and maturing, while respecting traditional achievements. Château Treytins, vinified on the fruit, benefits fully from the temperature regulation in these air-conditioned cellars.

At the beginning of the 19th century, John-Lewis Brown (1769-1851), bought a vineyard and designed in the village of Cantenac, a traditional Tudor style château, reminding him of his Scottish origins. His name is forever linked to the Grand Cru Classé. After the 1855 Grand Cru Classification, Louis Armand Lalande (1820-1894), Bordeaux winemerchant and owner of several estates in Médoc, extended the building. Surrounded by a remarkable British style park, Château Cantenac Brown is since then among the most original in Médoc and of the wines to watch out for, getting better vintage after vintage.

BriO de Cantenac Brown is the second wine of Château Cantenac Brown and was first created in the 2001 vintage. From the style of its label, through to the careful selection of lots and to the bottling, the wine aims to express the modernity of Château Cantenac Brown in the 21st Century. Charming, delicate and brilliant, a pleasurable wine for sharing. It can be enjoyed young, but will improve when kept for a few years.

The history of Montrose, written in two centuries by three families of owners, is depositary of their spirit, marked by their quest of excellence and legendary vintages. Pioneers in the Médoc, visionary builders and wise managers, all these families knew how to work and valorise this unique terroir. The estate owes them the foundation on which Montrose builds its image today and its unique place in the world of exceptional wines.

Third blend made from batches of the younger vines and the lees wines, Tertio de Montrose, is produced on the exceptional terroir of Château Montrose and vinified by its teams. Named Saint-Estèphe de Montrose when created in 2008, it was renamed Tertio de Montrose in 2016.

Aged for 12 months, for which 15% in new barrels, this wine is made with the same quality requirements as the Grand Vin and La Dame de Montrose selections. Typical of the Bordeaux blends, this wine can be enjoyed in its early years.

Château Faugèresis known for wines that demonstrate a stylistic evolution focused on finesse. This trend was put in place at the property by Silvio Denz, a Swiss-German businessman passionate about wine and owner of several vineyards in the Bordeaux region.

A Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion, Château Faugères extends over a vineyard of 37 ha located on one of the most beautiful terroirs of the Right Bank, the famous limestone plateau of Saint-Emilion. In order to better respect the environment and to enhance the richness of the soil, the vineyard is cultivated according to a sustainable natural viticulture.

2017 was a vintage of many challenges and an early harvest. Fortunately, Château Faugères was one of the properties spared by frost. The quality of the fruit was preserved throughout the vegetative cycle. An exceptional wine, the Château Faugères 2017 is the second vintage of the estate’s Grand Vin adorned with a Lalique "Calice" engraving.

Château Quintus is the 5th child within the Domaine Clarence Dillon family of wines. Its name is a tribute to the Gallo-Romans, creators of Saint-Emilion’s vineyards, who had the custom of naming their fifth child Quintus.

Le Dragon de Quintus is the second wine of Château Quintus. The name originates from the dragon statue that towers above the magical terroir of Saint-Emilion, perched high upon the promontory, where the estate is located.

Thanks to this ideal spell of weather in 2019, all the grape varieties were harvested at peak ripeness and at a leisurely pace. This Dragon is definitely well-balanced and delicious.

TECHNICAL DATA
Alcohol 15%

APPEARANCE
Beautiful dark red colour.

NOSE
Initially intense, fruity and refreshing, the nose gains complexity with aeration, revealing discreet hints of oak alongside very ripe black fruit aromas.

PALATE
Starts out fine and elegant on the palate, becoming full-bodied with relatively long and concentrated tannins, accompanied by fruity notes. This vintage of Le Dragon is definitely well-balanced and delicious.

AGEING
18 months in 33.5% new oak barrels.

PAIRING
This rounded red works perfectly with Indian curry, osso buco or lamb stew with chickpeas and dried figs.
